Are you troubled with the effects of the burning sun? Arbors or Pergolas are a great way to get some instant shade for that very sunny area. They can add a bit of seclusion and, built with treated wood, they will withstand natures elements. You may want an arbor for hanging plants or vines. In any case, they can be a great benefit and a helpful addition.
All of these projects below had pergolas constructed because of a full sun issues.

Project #1
You may recognize this project from the "Pavers" page. While getting the pavers done, this owner decided to also have a pergola installed for some shade.
You can see how the arbor shades the area. Look at the shadow on the siding.

Project #2
Here, a pergola was necessary. The heat of the day made enjoying their hot tub impossible.
It is difficult to see the hot tub here but we extended their deck to flow around the hot tub with the arbor directly above it.

This home also had a sun issue. Spending a day outside was unbearable.
